TITUSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Titusville doctor was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly attempted to lure a child into a vehicle.

Titusville Police said Rhonaldo A. Silaban, 32, of Syracuse, NY, allegedly attempted to lure a child into a vehicle on Friday, July 19.

Following an investigation, Silaban was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and charged with first-degree misdemeanor Luring a Child into a Motor Vehicle, third-degree misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct, and third-degree misdemeanor Harassment/Following into a Public Place.

Specific details on the incident have not yet been released.

“Information has been gained throughout the process by interviewing the victim, and the witness, who were very observant of important facts, clothing, and facial characteristics,” said Titusville Police Department Chief Dustin LeGoullon in a release issued by the department. “This vital information, combined with evidence that was gathered, led officers to the arrest of (Silaban).”

“Our department has worked diligently to solve this case to ensure that the person was held accountable for his actions and more importantly to prevent him from trying to do this again.”

According to a statement released by Titusville Area Hospital, Silaban began work last week as a temporary physician at the hospital.

“Titusville Area Hospital (TAH) was made aware of the allegations against Dr. Rhonaldo Silaban around 11:00 a.m. today,” said the hospital in the statement. “TAH fully cooperated with the investigation. Within less than one hour, Dr. Silaban was in police custody. Dr. Silaban was employed through a reputable third party physician employment organization which TAH contracts with.”

Silaban was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Amy L. Nicols and lodged in the Crawford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail.

He faces a preliminary hearing before Judge Nicols on August 8 at 10:30 a.m.
