VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — A widespread power outage is affecting thousands of households in the Franklin and Sugarcreek Borough areas.
According to a representative of Venango County 9-1-1, an explosion was reported at the Sugarcreek substation, located at Front Street and Allegheny Boulevard, around 7:50 a.m. today.
The explosion reportedly caused a widespread power outage, which the First Energy Company’s website says is affecting about 4,288 customers in Franklin and another 760 in Sugarcreek Borough as of 9:50 a.m.
The website estimates power should be restored to customers in Sugarcreek Borough around 11:00 a.m. and customers in Franklin around noon.
