Fire Destroys Oil City Home, Woman Sent to Hospital

OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) – One person was sent to the hospital after a house fire broke out in Oil City early Saturday afternoon.

According to Venango County 9-1-1, the fire broke out around Noon at a two-story home in the 200 block of Fourth Street.

Firefighters from Oil City Fire Department, Franklin City Fire Department, Seneca VFD, Cornplanter VFD, and Rouseville VFD were dispatched to the scene.

A representative with Oil City Fire Department told exploreVenango.com that the home was a total loss.

The representative said Community Ambulance transported a woman to UPMC Northwest for treatment of smoke inhalation. She was evaluated and later released.

The scene was cleared around 4:00 p.m.
