Franklin Man Facing Murder Charges

MERCER, Pa. (EYT) - A Franklin man is facing Murder charges in connection with the death of a Mercer County man last December.

State police say 45-year-old Ralph L. Young, of Franklin, was arrested today on charges of first-degree murder, reckless burning, abuse of a corpse, and possession of explosive/incendiary material in connection with the death of his brother-in-law, 58-year-old David A. Dignall, of Carlton, Mercer County.

Dignall’s body was discovered on December 20 in French Creek Township, Mercer County.

Autopsy results revealed that Dignall died of a single gunshot wound.

According to police, evidence was discovered that linked Young to Dignall’s death.

Young was placed in Mercer County Prison without bail.

He faces a preliminary hearing on May 22 before Magisterial District Judge D. Neil McEwen.
