COOLSPRING, Pa. – State Police say one person was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Route 62 in Mercer County Wednesday night.

Police say the accident happened around 6:00 p.m. when 18-year-old William James Cupic, of Mercer, lost control of his vehicle on the wet pavement while traveling south on Route 62 in Coolspring, Mercer County, just north of Springfield Church Road.

According to police, Cupic’s vehicle subsequently struck two north-bound vehicles.

Authorities say a girl, whose name and age was not released, was killed in the accident.

It’s unclear if Cupic was injured.

Police say the vehicles that struck were operated by 73-year-old Wendell Boyd, of New Wilmington, and James Boughner of Jackson Center. Both drivers and a passenger in Boyd’s car escaped serious injury.
