Oil City Woman Wanted on Fraud Charges Turns Herself in to Police

VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — An Oil City woman who was wanted in connection with a fraud investigation is now in custody.

According to a release issued Tuesday by the Oil City Police Department, Heather Wolfe, 25, turned herself in at the police station on Monday.

Wolfe was wanted on the following charges filed on January 19 at Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office:

  • Access Device Issued to Another Who Did Not Authorize Use, Felony 3
  • Access Device Issued to Another Who Did Not Authorize Use, Misdemeanor 1 (4 counts)
  • Access Device Issued to Another Who Did Not Authorize Use, Misdemeanor 2 (15 counts)
  • Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1

Patrolman Ruditis said the charges stem from a series of unauthorized credit card transactions. Wolfe allegedly used a credit card to purchase miscellaneous items at multiple stores in the Oil City and Venango County area between December 2017 to January 2018 without the card owner’s consent.

She was arraigned before Judge Kirtland and subsequently committed to the Venango County Jail in lieu of $20,000 straight bail. She is also being held on a detainer related to outstanding bench warrants.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, with Judge Fish presiding.
