Oil City Business Owner Killed in Seneca Fire

SENECA, Pa. (EYT) – A Seneca man was killed following a fire at his home late Thursday evening.

Venango County 911 says the fire broke out around 9:27 p.m. at a residence along Pennsylvania Avenue.

Venango County Coroner Christina Rugh told exploreVenango.com that 57-year-old Rodney Beichner, of Seneca, died as a result of the fire.

Rugh pronounced Beichner dead at approximately 10:30 p.m.

The exact cause of death has not been determined.

An autopsy is scheduled for later today.

Beichner was the owner of William’s Decorating in Oil City.

Sources say another person in the home was transported to an unknown hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the fire.

Specific details on the fire have not yet been released.

Firefighters from Seneca, Cornplanter Twp., Rockland Twp., Pinegrove Twp., and Emlenton responded to the scene.

Community Ambulance and Franklin-based State Police also assisted at the scene.

The fire remains under investigation by Franklin-based State Police and the Venango County Coroner’s Office.
