Polk Borough Chief of Police Acquitted on Harassment Charge

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The Chief of Police for Polk Borough was acquitted on a harassment charge today during a hearing held in Clarion.

Court documents indicate that 52-year-old Edward Eugene Sharp, Jr., of Oil City, was acquitted on Thursday, January 3, in Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn’s office in Clarion.

He is currently employed as the Chief of Police in Polk Borough.

According to a non-traffic citation filed through Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office, on Tuesday, October 9, Sharp was accused of shoving a female victim and making inappropriate comments to her at a public facility.

Oil City Police Patrolman Deloe officially filed the charge against Sharp on October 24.

Calls to Chief Sharp for comment were not immediately returned.
