Polk Woman Allegedly Fires Three Rounds at Victim; Jailed on Attempted Homicide Charges

| September 12, 2017

POLK, Pa. (EYT) – A Polk woman has been accused of attempted homicide following an incident that occurred on Saturday night at a residence in Polk, Victory Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, members of the Franklin Station responded to a shooting incident that occurred at a residence in Victory Township.

Upon arrival of police, the actor and accused – later identified as 55-year-old Jodi Lee Moody, of Polk – had fled the scene.

The investigation revealed that Moody was involved in an altercation with her live-in boyfriend, a 60-year-old man, of Polk.

Following an argument, Moody allegedly retrieved a loaded revolver from a closet, pointed it at the victim, and discharged the weapon, according to police.

The victim retreated from the bedroom of the residence to the kitchen area. As the victim was running down the hall, Moody allegedly fired a second round. Once in the kitchen, Moody allegedly fired a third round which narrowly missed striking the victim, police say.

At the time of the last shot, Moody was in very close proximity to the victim, which afforded the victim the opportunity to grab the revolver and disarm Moody, according to police.

It was at this time that Moody fled the scene.

Moody was observed at a convenience store located approximately seven miles from the scene. Moody again fled prior to PSP members arriving at that location. Several hours later, Moody was located in Farrell, Pa., where she was detained and later taken into custody after a warrant for her arrest was issued by District Magistrate Patrick E. Lowrey.

Moody waived arraignment and was transported to the Franklin Station.

After being interviewed, Moody was arraigned and incarcerated at Venango County Jail after failing to post bail.
