Police Respond to Apparent Standoff Situation in Clintonville

CLINTONVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Authorities responded to an apparent standoff situation in Clintonville on Friday evening.

Witnesses report hearing at least one gunshot at a residence on Emlenton Street in Clintonville late Friday afternoon.

Witnesses also report hearing police repeatedly telling a person inside the house to “come out with your hands up,” followed by what was witnesses believed was gunfire around 9:30 p.m.

Around 11:45 p.m., an individual was taken into custody and had to be restrained by several police officers, according to an eye-witness.

Franklin-based State Police called the incident an “emergency situation”, but were unable to release further details.

Routes 208 and 308 into Clintonville were closed for several hours during the incident.

Both roadways have since re-opened.
