Severe Weather Wreaks Havoc on Region

42971934_285957112016815_2506995161116966912_nCRAWFORD COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Multiple tornadoes and high winds have caused severe damage throughout multiple counties in the region.

Crawford County Public Safety reported that a tornado touched down in the vicinity of Conneautville Tuesday around 4:43 p.m. causing damage to a villa and a portion of the main facility at Rolling Fields Eldercare.

National Fuel Gas has shut off gas to the facility, and 162 residents have been transported to Conneautville Volunteer Fire Department and Conneautville Valley Middle School. Two minor injuries were reported, and they were transported to local hospitals.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland rated it an EF-2 tornado with winds up to 115 mph and a path width of 50 yards. The length has yet to be determined.

At 5:59 p.m., a confirmed tornado was located near Reynoldsville, Jefferson County, moving east at 35 MPH.

At 6:18 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles west of Brockway, Jefferson County, or 10 miles northeast of Brookville, moving east at 40 MPH.

At 7:23 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles southwest of Rimersburg, Clarion County, moving east at 25 mph.

Damage has also been reported in Clover Township, Jefferson County.

The National Weather Service is continuing to monitor the situation. More tornado surveys will be conducted across the region on Wednesday.

A Tornado Watch in effect for multiple Pennsylvania counties has expired.
