Soldier from Clarion County Killed in ATV Accident

PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. – A former Leeper, Pa. man who was stationed at a U.S. Army base in Missouri was killed in an ATV accident early Thursday morning.

According to a published report in the St. Louis Post Dispatch, Timothy R. Panzar, 25, formerly of Leeper, was driving an all-terrain vehicle around 2:30 a.m. on Hartford Road in Pulaski County, Missouri, when the vehicle became airborne, struck a tree, flipped over and landed in the Big Piney River.

Both Panzar and a passenger, Erik D. Kolbow, 33, were ejected from the ATV and thrown into the river.

Panzar was pronounced dead at the scene around 5 a.m.

Kolbow was airlifted to a nearby hospital. He’s currently listed in serious condition.

According to the report, both Panzar and Kolbow were currently assigned to the 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
