“The incident is over, and the roadway is open,” said Clarion-based State Police Trooper Knight.

Trooper Knight confirmed that a male suspect is in custody, but police were unable to release further details, citing an active investigation.

“The officers are continuing interviews and their investigation,” said Trooper Knight.

The incident began around 10:30 a.m. after police received a report of a domestic incident at single-story home near the intersection of Shettler Road and Route 208.

Sources near the scene say at least a dozen law enforcement officers surrounded the home. Multiple members of the Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) were on the scene with rifles pointed toward the home.

The area directly surrounding the incident was on lockdown as nearby residents were told to stay inside their homes.

According to Clarion County 9-1-1, Shippenville-Elk VFD and Knox VFD were dispatched around 11:10 a.m. to shut down Route 208 between Knox and Shippenville.

Route 208 was shut down for approximately 6.5 hours as a result of the incident.

Trooper Knight said a press release is expected to be issued soon.
