Tionesta Man Killed in Fiery Crash

TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) – A Tionesta man is dead after his car collided with a tree and caught fire this afternoon in Tionesta Township.

The accident took place around 1:23 p.m. when 62-year-old Russell D. Henry’s south-bound 1988 Buick Park Avenue drifted off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a guard rail.

Henry’s vehicle then crashed into a tree, rolled onto its passenger side, and caught fire.

The fire was extinguished a short time later by Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department.

Henry was pronounced dead at 2:10 p.m. by Forest County Coroner Norman Wimer.

He was not wearing a seat belt.

Tionesta Ambulance and Tionesta Fire Police also assisted at the scene.
