Two Major Accidents Shut Down I-80 in Venango, Mercer Counties

VENANGO/MERCER CO., Pa. (EYT) — Two people were flown to area hospitals following two separate accidents on Interstate 80 Thursday afternoon.

According to a representative of Venango County 911, the first call came in at 2:58 p.m.

Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department, Emlenton Ambulance, STAT MedEvac and Franklin-based State Police were dispatched to I-80 East at mile marker 32.

Emlenton Volunteer Fire Company was on standby.

According to Clintonville Volunteer Fire Chief Gerry Rea, traffic was slowing down for an upcoming construction zone and a white SUV rear-ended a tractor-trailer.
