Woman Stabbed in Back, Man Fatally Shoots Himself

WARREN COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Warren-based State Police say an incident of Criminal Attempt Homicide and Suicide occurred this morning on Taylor Lane, in Pittsfield Township, Warren County.

Around 11:30 a.m. on December 4, Warren County Control 911 notified police of a stabbing and shooting incident on Taylor Lane.

The female caller, a 42-year-old Garland woman, reported that she had been stabbed by a unidentified man, and that he had shot himself, according to police.

State Police in Warren and Emergency Personnel responded to the residence and discovered the woman with a stab wound to her back.

She was flown to Hamot Hospital in Erie for treatment.

The man was discovered deceased of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police say.

The investigation is continuing.

The release of the man’s name is pending notification of next of kin, according to police.

There is no word on the condition of the woman.
