Brigitte K. Latchaw, 86, of Franklin passed away on Monday, July 24.

Born in Oberstedten, Germany on November 11th, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Friedrich and Eugenia Rezhenberger Höhn.

On December 8, 1948, she married William Latchaw. Brigitte worked for the Valley Grove School District for over 20 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking. She made apple streudel for the Franklin Chamber of Commerce’s Applefest. She also did alterations for Bon-ton. She liked to make cakes and food for Ethnic Day. She loved birds. She also volunteered for many organizations.

She was a member and very active in all phases at the Fox Street Church of God where she also taught Sunday school, worked in the nursery and helped cook dinners. She was also an officer of the Eastern Star Morris Chapter # 14 of Oil City.

Along with her husband, William Latchaw, she is survived by her daughters, Beverly Froncek and husband James of Erie and Barbara Woods of New Oxford, PA; her son William Friedrich Latchaw and wife Jean of Franklin; her grandchildren Bill Latchaw, Aaron Campbell, Angel Campbell, Elton Latchaw, Brianne Reed, Jimmy Froncek and Philip Woods; her great grandchildren Bryce Campbell, Brock Woods, Laila Woods, Emily E. Reed, Amelia Reed, Nadalie Latchaw, Megan Latchaw. She is further survived by her sister Marion Colfer of St. Clairsville, OH and her brother Theodore Höhn and wife Ava of Merenburg, Germany.

Brigitte was preceded in death by both parents, a sister, Annie Hohle and 3 brothers Max Höhn, Waldemar Höhn and Rudolph Höhn.

Friends are invited to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, July 27 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Fox Street Church of God on Friday, July 28 at 11:00 am with Rev. Chad Troup, pastor at Fox Street Church of God, officiating.

Interment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Polk, PA.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to the Fox Street Church of God, 229 Fox Street, Franklin, PA 16323.
