BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — State police say a Butler County teenager was arrested for threatening his family members with a rifle and a bayonet yesterday.

Butler-based State Police say they arrested a 17-year-old teenage boy from Middendorf Street, Marion, Pa., for pointing an AK-type rifle at four family members.

According to police, they were called to the residence in Marion at approximately 2:00 p.m.; when the teenager discovered the police were on their way, he ran into the woods.

About three hours later, the teenager surrendered to the police, unarmed; he led the troopers to the location where he left a rifle, a bayonet, and six live rounds of ammunition.

The 17-year-old will be charged as a juvenile with making terroristic threats, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
