BUTLER COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – According to sources, 58-year-old David Evanko – a well-known Butler County doctor – is facing child sex abuse charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and statutory rape.

Evanko’s trial began on Monday.

Sources say the alleged assaults occurred while Evanko was a Boy Scout troop leader.

According to sources, the first victim stated Evanko performed oral sex on him during a game of truth or dare. It happened while the victim, now 31, was 13 years old.

The victim said he became acquainted with Evanko when he joined the Boy Scouts in 1992 and regularly spent time with Evanko as an escape from his troubled home life, even going Christmas shopping with him.

The victim also testified that Evanko regularly supplied him, the victim’s brothers, and even Evanko’s own son with alcoholic beverages.

The non-jury case is being heard by visiting Superior Court Judge Fred P. Anthony of Erie County.
