BUTLER, Pa. — Tyler Rekich threw a no-hitter to lead the Butler Township 11-and-12-year olds All-Star Team to a 3-0 win over Franklin in Butler Wednesday.

Rekich struck out 13 to give Butler Township a victory in its All-Star opener. The squad will now travel to Clarion for a winner’s bracket game Saturday.

Franklin, meanwhile, drops into the loser’s bracket and will take on Oil City, a 15-0 winner over Cranberry, at 7 p.m. Friday at Franklin.

As if his pitching wasn’t enough, Rekich also hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for Butler Township’s third and final run.

Brandon Marcellus, who had a double, drove in the first run for Butler Township on the first inning and the team then added a second run in the fourth.
