C. Dean McMaster

C. Dean McMaster, 76, of Leeper, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018, surrounded by his family at Penn Highland Hospital in Dubois.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff for all of their time and attention during his time spent in Penn Highlands of Brookville and Dubois.

He was born August 7, 1941, to the late Frank and Twila (Braughler) McMaster in Reidsburg. On December 7, 1988, he married Linda Harriger, who survives in Leeper, PA.

After high school, Dean joined the Navy. He was a member of the American Legion and the Good Shepherd United Methodist church.

Dean loved spending time with his family. He most loved cheering on his grandchildren in their sports and academics. Dean was the owner of his own trucking company and retired from Eagle Contracting. He was very proud that he drove over four million miles without ever having an accident. He was also the owner of Deno’s Tavern in Marienville, PA for many years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.  Dean was a long time Steelers fan and enjoyed watching Pirates games and Nascar races. He was also actively involved in his younger years with sprint car races.

Along with his wife, he is survived by four children: Jeffrey D. (Daneen) McMaster, of Brookville, PA; Steven T. (Anita) McMaster, of Fisher, PA; Brittany N. (Luke) Alex, of Warren, PA; and Brandon W. (Stephanie) McMaster, of Knox, PA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Garner, Gannon, Grayden, Brooke, Ryley, Alana, Maya, Chase, and Karter. Surviving are also three sisters-in-law, Gordene McMaster, Ann (Don) Schmader, and Sandra Hyde along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Jack, and Lester, nephew, Debo Hyde, and sister in law, Marion McMaster.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, June 11, 2018, from 2:00 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Borland-Ensminger Funeral Home, Inc., in Leeper. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 66 on Monday, June 11, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd UMC in Tionesta, PA with Rev. Jonathan Bell officiating. A private burial will take place at a later time.
