Calvin L. “Cal” Forsell

Calvin L. “Cal” Forsell, 61, a resident of 373 Meadville Pike, Franklin, died unexpectedly of natural causes, Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019, in his home.

He was born December 26, 1957, in Blythe, CA, a beloved son of the late: Ernest and Audine Funk Forsell.

He proudly served his country during The Vietnam War era as a private with the U.S. Army.

Following his discharge from duty, Cal spent his lifetime as mechanic/owner-operator of Forsell’s Auto Repair and State Inspection Station in Franklin. He had also worked with Lowry Auto Body and Olsen’s Garage, both in Franklin.

He was a former member of The Franklin Moose Lodge #83.

Cal loved riding his Harley, hunting, fishing and pitching horseshoes and shooting pool on various local leagues. He loved to cook and shoot off fireworks for his family and friends. He was “world famous” for his cookouts and for the holiday hams he baked. Cal will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

He is survived by his children: Gabrielle S. Forsell and her significant other, Dean of McKean; Danielle A. Theuret and husband, Josh of Rouseville and Steven C. Forsell of Franklin; in addition to his grandchildren: Caleb, Brendan, Adreanna, Colin, Jayda, Charity, Seth, Joseph, and Paislee.

Also surviving are his siblings: Jack, Rose “Sis”, Steve, George, and Bobbi “B.J.”. Cal is also survived by his trusted companion and best friend, his beloved Rottweiler, Moses; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Marshall; a sister, Betty and a nephew, George.

Friends may call Friday 5-7 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

In honor of service to his country, full military burial rites will be accorded by The V.E.T.S. Funeral Honor Guard of Franklin at 7 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be directed to the funeral home to help defray his funeral expenses.
