Car Collides with Deer; 17-year-old Franklin Teen Injured

SANDYCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin State Police say around 5:47 p.m on November 16, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 8 in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

According to police, a known 17-year-old male of Franklin was traveling south on Rt. 8 in a 1996 Oldsmobile and struck a deer.

Community Ambulance Service transported him to UPMC; the severity of his injuries are unknown.

Police say he was using a seat belt.

His three passengers, 42-year-old Melissa M. Burk, 52-year-old Peggy S. Strub, and a 16-year-old female, all of Franklin, were using seat belts and were not injured. f
