Car Collides with Tree in High Speed Crash

CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Cranberry woman was injured in a crash that occurred in Cranberry Township Monday afternoon.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 3:28 p.m. on Monday, March 26, Tina M. Irwin, 52, was operating a 2010 Chrysler 300 on Horsecreek Road when she was approaching a right-hand curve, and for unknown reasons, made no effort to negotiate the turn.

Police said the vehicle continued in a straight line, striking a tree along the left side of the roadway, causing disabling damage to the vehicle.

The vehicle struck the tree at a high rate of speed before coming to a final rest near it.

Irwin was wearing a seatbelt and the front airbags were deployed.

She was transported to UPMC Northwest for treatment of injuries of an unknown severity.

Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.
