CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say around 11:18 a.m. on September 18, a one-car accident occurred in Comcast parking lot, Route 322, Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to police, Sophia J. Skiba, of Oil City, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo LS and pulled into a front row parking spot at the Comcast building at 6885 US 322 in Franklin.

Police say Skiba thought she was applying the brakes but was actually pressing the gas pedal. The car traveled north, up and over the curb, and into the Comcast building.

The car’s front end struck the front of the building and came to a final rest on the sidewalk facing north with the front end of the vehicle against the Comcast building.

Skiba was not injured.
