OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Franklin-based State Police, around 4:45 a.m. on June 10, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 417, west of Blueberry Lane, in Oakland Township, Venango County.
Police say 25-year-old Tyson J. Robbins, of Missoula, MT, was traveling south on SR 417 and encountered a ground hog on the roadway.
Robbins swerved his 2013 Honda Fit left to avoid impacting it. He lost control of his car, crossed over the white fog line, and exited the west side of the roadway, according to police.
The car impacted a tree on the west side of the roadway with its front end and came to rest on the west side of the roadway facing approximately southwest.
He was using a seat belt and was not injured.
He was charged with a traffic violation.
