Car Crashes into Utility Pole after Driver Swerves to Miss Dog

CHERRYTREE TWP, Pa. (EYT) – A one-vehicle accident occurred yesterday afternoon in Cherrytree Township after the vehicle’s driver swerved to avoid a dog.

Franklin-based state police said Janet Greene, 80, Oil City, was traveling south on SR-8 in Cherrytree Township, Venango County, around 3:20 p.m. yesterday when a dog ran onto the road.

Police said Greene’s vehicle left the roadway after she braked and swerved to avoid hitting the dog.

The vehicle subsequently struck a utility pole.

Ms. Greene and a passenger, Randy Greene, 55, Oil City, escaped injury in the crash.
