RICHLAND TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A two-vehicle crash occurred on Monday afternoon at the 53.3 mile marker of Interstate 80 West, in Richland Township, Clarion County.

According to Clarion-based State Police, 68-year-old Vladimir Kerchman, of Copley, OH, and 27-year-old Christopher A. Garnett, of Swartz Creek Rd, MI, were involved in the collision.

Police say around 3:42 p.m. on Monday, January 8, a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer — driven by Garnett — was traveling west in the right lane of I-80 at the 53.3 mile marker.

Kerchman’s 2013 Toyota Camry was traveling west in the westbound passing lane, and Kerchman failed to maintain lane integrity, causing the car to sideswipe the Freightliner. The right side of the Toyota struck the left side of the tractor-trailer.

The Toyota came to a rest near the initial impact with the tractor-trailer.

The Freightliner came to a rest in the north side berm of I-80 west of the crash scene.

Both drivers were using seat belts, and no injuries were reported.

Kerchman was charged with a traffic violation.
