Carl L. Trauterman

Carl L. Trauterman, Jr., 81, of Oil City, (Pinegrove Township), died Friday afternoon, October 13, 2017, at Park Ave. Rehab in Meadville.

He was born in Zelienople, Butler County on October 30, 1935, to the late Carl L. Trauterman, Sr. and Helen Irene (Watt) Trauterman.

He attended Emlenton High School. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1957 through 1959.

He was a former member of the Oil City V.F.W.

Carl was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Titusville.

He enjoyed hunting, collecting Indian artifacts, gardening, going on car rides with Dell, and attending local county fairs.

Mr. Trauterman was employed as a welder and assembler for the Oilwell Supply Co. in Oil City for more than twenty years.

Surviving are three children: Carl “Sonny” Trauterman III, Charles “Chuck” Trauterman, and Wendy Trauterman; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his fiancé, Ardelle “Dell” Hutchinson of Hydetown; a brother, Tom Trauterman of Ohio; a half-brother, Jay Trauterman of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nancy McClory and her husband, Joe; and a grandson, Charles Trauterman Jr.

Friends and family will be received Tuesday (Oct. 17th) from 1 – 3 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, where the funeral service will follow Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Interment will be in the Portersville Presbyterian Cemetery, Butler County.
