Carol Ann Brown Kilgore, 66, of Franklin, PA passed away suddenly on Tuesday July 11, 2017 at UPMC –Hamot, Erie, PA.

She was born in Amsterdam on April 1, 1951, the third daughter of Warner A. and Evelyn Ahnert Brown and was a 1969 graduate of Galway Central School.

Carol was a US Navy veteran and served three years. She was stationed in San Diego, CA and met her husband, Jerry, a US Marine. After her marriage, she moved to Franklin, PA.

Mrs. Kilgore was a Certified Nurse’s Aide and worked at the Sugar Valley Lodge for more than twenty nine years.

Carol attended Lupher Chapel United Methodist Church in Franklin, PA.

She was an avid bowler and enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and tubing.

Carol also loved visiting her New York family.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry L. Kilgore, whom she married August 5, 1972, of Franklin, PA; her mother, Evelyn M. Brown of West Galway; three sisters, April (Vern) Vogel of Broadalbin, Betty (Tom) Gould of Clifton Park, and Wendy (Todd) Mayotte of Hudson Falls; two brothers, Warner A. Brown, Jr. and Randy C. Brown, both of West Galway; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from noon – 2 pm at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc. 111 County Highway 106 (Corner of Route 29 & Black Street), Johnstown, NY.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm with Rev. Thomas A. Gregg, officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in West Galway Cemetery.

A Memorial service will be held at the Lupher Chapel in Franklin, PA at a later date.
