Carol HallCarol H. Hall, 69, of Rockland, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday night, March 19, 2017 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

She was born in Oil City on May 3, 1947 to the late Art and Helen (Rosenberg) Winger. She moved with her family in 1951 to Rockland, where she lived her entire life.

She graduated from Cranberry High School in 1965 and attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky from 1966 through 1970, studying elementary education. It was there that she met her future husband. She was married on September 7, 1968 in the Rockland United Methodist Church, to Donald Hall, and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2002.

Carol served as a leader with the Rockland Rolling Stones 4-H Club for ten years.

Mrs. Hall was a former member of the Rockland United Methodist Church for many years, and was currently a member of the Oil City Community Alliance Church. During her years at Rockland, she served as a Sunday school teacher for 30 years, was the children’s coordinator, the family coordinator, worship chairperson, and Vacation Bible School director. In 1966 she participated in a memorable mission trip to Haiti.

Carol was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting, baking, and making deserts for a variety of church events. Her true passion was devoted to her flower gardens and spending time with her family.

In her earlier years, she worked at the American Greeting Card Company, served as the secretary to the dietician at Oil City Hospital, and was a clerk at the UPS terminal in Seneca. In 1984, she began working at the Burger King restaurant in Cranberry, becoming the assistant manager in 1991. She later transferred to the Titusville Burger King and worked there until her retirement in 2009.

She is survived by two daughters, Cristy (Hall) McCandless and her husband Bill of the St. George river community, and Stacy Hall of Rockland; four grandchildren: Austin, Megan, Marissa, and Caleb McCandless, all of St. George; two brothers, Dave Winger and his wife Peg of Dempseytown, and Tom Winger and his husband Don Freed of Seattle, Washington; and one sister, Marilyn Miller and her husband Andy of Rockland.

Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Doris Hopper and her husband Lindsey of Florence, Kentucky, and Lin Winger of Seattle, Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Friends will be received Tuesday (March 21) from 4 — 8 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. On Wednesday (March 22), a visitation will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. in the Oil City Community Alliance Church, 411 Seneca Street in Oil City, where the funeral service will follow Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dan Marlatt will officiate.

Following the funeral luncheon at church, interment will be in the Rockland Cemetery in Kennerdell.
