Carol DittmanCarol Lee Dittman, 59, of Knox, went to be with her Lord and Savior after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, December 26, 2016.

Carol was born on July 10, 1957 in Clearfield, the daughter of Franklin and Shirley May.

Carol was employed for many years at Training Toward Self Reliance where she was lovingly known as “Grandma Carol.”

During her years in Florida, she worked at Camelot Country Restaurant in Oak Hill, FL until her health no longer permitted.

She enjoyed gardening, camping, painting, crafting projects, and spending time with her beloved dog, Cummins.

Carol is survived by five siblings, Betty Jean Wolfe of Parker, Freda Ann Dye of Grafton, OH, Ronald May of Strattanville, William May Sr. of Knox, and Tammy Stitt of Edgewater, FL; two grandsons, Dylan Meals and Cody Cotherman, both of Knox, as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carol is also survived by her fiancé, Ernest Talbot of Oak Hill, FL, and special friends whom she loved dearly, Courtney and Brian Miller, Denise Babcock, Bonnie Dittman, Denise Meals, Deb Faccini, Deb Southworth, David Donaldson, and Rhonda Alworth.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her children, Clayton Lane Wike and Christina Lynn Donaldson, as well as her husband, Lewis Dittman Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Nickleville Presbyterian Church, 169 Valley Church Rd., Emlenton, with the Rev. Sue Montgomery, church pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Petersburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Rd., Clarion, PA 16214 or the Nickleville Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Hile Funeral Home Inc.
