Carrie (Sawatsky) Womer, 56, of Oil City, died Tuesday afternoon, December 5, 2017 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Titusville on June 18, 1961 to Robert Sawatsky and the late Yvonne (Lesh) Sawatsky.

She graduated in 1979 from Titusville High School.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City and assisted with the youth programs.

Carrie enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren.

She also liked to crochet, read, watch television and play games.

Attending the Stoneboro Fair each year with her family was also a favorite.

She worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block offices in Oil City, Franklin, and Titusville.

She later became the office manager at Ressler Optometry in Oil City and worked there until her health declined.

She was married in Titusville on June 21, 1992 to Philip O. Womer, and he survives.

Also surviving is her father, Robert Sawatsky of Titusville; four children: Rhonda Criss and her husband James of Grove City, Melissa Lloyd and her boyfriend Adam of Knox, Katelyn Monn and her husband Darren of Slippery Rock, and Alex Womer and his girlfriend Emily of Erie; sixteen grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by two brothers, John Sawatsky and his wife Beth of Neavitt, Maryland, and Mark Sawatsky and his wife Monica of Titusville; a brother-in-law, Joseph Womer and his wife Jan of Oil City; and a sister-in-law, Patricia McFarland of Polk.

Carrie was very close to her sisters-in-law, and considered them to be her sisters.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Nathaniel G. Lloyd; and Aunt Karen.

A memorial service to celebrate Carrie’s life is being planned and those details will be announced at a later date.

The Hile-Best Funeral Home in Seneca, Cranberry Township is completing funeral arrangements.
