VENANGO CO., Pa. — Liz Staab is being featured as CASA’s Volunteer Advocate.

Liz was chosen as CASA (court-appointed special advocate) of Venango County’s 2019 Volunteer Advocate of the year.

Submitted by CASA:

Elizabeth “Liz” amazes us with her tenacity and devotion to her CASA charges. She is very tenacious and gets us information we didn’t think we could ever get. Liz knows how things are supposed to go, and how they will usually go.  She holds nothing back and will do whatever is necessary to help her charges. Liz is a very caring person, and we are so happy she decided to become a CASA.

Liz is a native and resident of Oil City and has been all her life. She is the proud mother of two children, Sumer, 17, and Skyler, 10. She is engaged to be married to Richard Freeman, whose child Liz also cares for very much. All of these kiddos keep her very busy, but she tries to find time to go kayaking whenever possible.

There is one CASA-related story Liz will tell you she will never forget.

She and our Advocate Supervisor, Debbie, found out that one of Liz’s charges was moved and they didn’t know where to.  The two were worried about the child’s safety and set out to find the biological parent, because they were pretty sure they would have been notified. They searched every known haunt of these people until they found one of the parents.

They discovered where the child had been moved, and that he was safe. Liz was then able to go visit him and let him know that even though he’d been moved again, she was still there for him!

All of us here at CASA; the staff, board of directors, and Liz's fellow volunteer advocates are so happy to have her working cases and helping abused and neglected children.
