TITUSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — A Rouseville man who was shot by state police after leading them on a high-speed chase last year, waived his preliminary hearings on Friday in district court.

Timothy McGarvie, 31, is accused of several felony charges in connection with a series of events that occurred in August of 2017.

According to a published article in the TitusvilleHerald.com, McGarvie led state police on a chase on August 24 across several rural roads north of Titusville.

According to police, it all began August 19 when McGarvie allegedly stole a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup truck, later crashing it, and then setting it on fire to hide the evidence. On the next day, McGarvie is accused of stealing two guns belonging to his father. The firearms were .38 and .22 caliber revolvers.

On August 23, a parked silver Ford Escape was stolen in Rome Township after someone shattered a window to get into it, according to police. State police claim McGarvie bought gas for the vehicle at a corner store later that day.

McGarvie was allegedly spotted with the stolen vehicle on August 24, traveling west on Fairview Road. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled, leading police on a 10-mile chase.

Police lost sight of the vehicle when it turned off Fink Road onto a logging route, where it struck a tree. The driver fled the scene.

On August 25, it was learned that McGarvie had entered a Second Street, Titusville home. The homeowner told McGarvie to leave, but when he spotted police, he fled back inside, going to the upstairs of the house.

Police entered the home with permission and confronted McGarvie, who was uncooperative, according to police.

Police say McGarvie then pulled a gun and placed it to his head. A state trooper shot McGarvie in the arm in response, while another used a taser on him, before taking him into custody.
