Featured in this week’s Venango County Soldier Spotlight is HM3(SW) Lawrence Platt.
HM3(SW) Lawrence Platt, 28, is a native of Franklin, PA.
Lawrence joined the Navy in August of 2005 as a Boatswains Mate and was on two deployments during his first 4 year enlistment with a frigate stationed in Mayport, FL. He re-enlisted as a Hospital Corpsman after graduating from Naval Hospital Corps School in November of 2009.
He has since been stationed at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, VA, where he has worked in the general surgery clinic, ICU, and immunization clinics.
He was married in January of 2006 to Nicole Platt, formerly Nicole Swartz, a graduate of Rocky Grove High School. They have two sons, Landon and Greyson.
Lawrence joined the Navy because he wanted to follow in the footseps of his father Lawrence Platt Sr. and his grandfather Thomas Platt.
