Cecil Parrett, 92, of Sigel, PA, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his home.

Born Feb. 14,1925 in Hallton, PA, he was the son of the late T. N. Parrett and Mona Aharrah.

On June 10,1950 in Ridgway, PA he married Evelyn M. Rhines. She survives in Sigel.

Mr. Parrett was a school bus contractor for Forest Area School district for 37 years. He had also owned and operated Parrett’s Quaker State in Marienville for 12 years.

He was a member of the Donahey United Methodist Church and Coudersport Consistory.

He was also a member of the Free And Accepted Masons of Marienville #633 Acacia Lodge until its closing and then transferred his membership to the Free And Accepted Masons of Tionesta #557 Olive Temple Lodge.

He was a veteran of the US ARMY having served in WWII in the 103rd infantry division.

Mr. Parrett enjoyed hunting (being unable in 2016 for first time since he was a teen), fishing, and enjoyed family get togethers and spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife he is survived by two sons; Jeffrey L. Parrett and his wife, Bonnie, and their family of Brookville, PA and Randall L. Parrett and his wife, Jane, and their family of Marienville, PA, and a daughter-in-law, Debra L. Parrett and her family of Marienville, PA. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive.

Mr. Parrett is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Margelyn J. Parrett, a son, R. James Parrett, a brother, Carl, and a sister, May.

Visitation will be Friday, February 17,2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, at Furlong Funeral Home, 140 Cherry Street, Marienville, PA.

A Masonic service will be held at 6 PM.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 11 AM at the Donahey United Methodist Church, 2492 Rt. 3001, Sigel, PA, 15860, with Rev. Randy Hall, officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow at the Donahey Cemetery, Millstone Twp. Elk County.
