PARKER, Pa. — Strong winds and heavy downpours caused widespread power outages for approximately 1,800 Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) members, with the majority of outages in western Venango County and the Coaltown area of western Butler. Outages were scattered in other counties served by CEC.

CEC crews will continue to work throughout the night to restore power to its members.

Members should report outages by calling 1-800-282-8610. The cooperative thanks members for their patience during restoration efforts.

Remember to stay away from downed power lines and report them to your electric utility.

Central Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving approximately 25,000 members with over 3,000 miles of distribution line in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer, and Venango counties.

Members are invited to attend this year’s 80th Meeting of the Members on August 25 in Whitehall Camp & Conference Center.
