CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — The staff at the Clarion Chamber of Business and Industry are working on wrapping up after another successful Autumn Leaf Festival.

According to Tracy Becker, Executive Director of the Clarion Chamber of Business and Industry, they’ve already received a lot of positive feedback on this year’s festival.

“For the most part, we’ve heard nothing but great things,” Becker told exploreVenango.com.

Becker went on to note that while the majority of the feedback has been positive, they hope that anyone with negative feedback will come and speak to them, as well.

“If there are things we need to be aware of, we need to hear about that too, so we can address it,” she noted.

“We don’t want anyone to have a bad experience here.”

According to Becker, the preliminary estimates on attendance at the festival won’t be available until after the last of their wrap-up meetings, which are all coming up in the next week or so. However, it seemed like attendance was good this year.

“Even though it rained on Sunday, we still had tractors come out and people came out, and everyone seemed to do well.”

Becker also noted that all of the vendors seemed to be happy with the attendance and their sales this year.

While the festival was a success, Becker said that they did run into a few “speed bumps” along the way, mostly behind the scenes, and are hoping to smooth things out more next year.

“On parade day, we had no volunteers,” she noted.

Luckily for Becker, her immediate and extended family rallied to the cause, pulling parade volunteer duty in a variety of positions.

“If it weren’t for them, I don’t know what I would have done,” Becker said. “That’s something we’ll need to address for 2020. We need to get more university groups or community groups involved who may be willing to help with events.”

However, despite the difficulties, the parade was a success.

“The parade wasn’t one of our biggest, but just the feeling of the parade this year, seeing the flag flying throughout the community, seeing it on the floats and the firetrucks and the cars hauling the VIPs, it just set the mood for the day.”

Although the festival itself is over, one last very special event is actually still coming up. The Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, which is open to anyone who volunteered to help at any of the Autumn Leaf Festival events, is set for this Sunday, October 13, at Eagle Commons from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Anyone seeking more information is encouraged to contact the Clarion Chamber of Business and Industry office.
