Man Threatens Woman with “Gun” During Incident

According to a criminal complaint filed by Tpr. Knight at District Judge Duane Quinn’s office, the incident happened around 4:45 a.m. on Friday, March 17.

Tpr. Knight was dispatched to a residence on South 2nd Avenue for a report of an attempted burglary.

The criminal complaint states that Tpr. Knight met with a female resident at the apartment who stated that two individuals — a known 13-year-old male neighbor and an unknown white male — entered her home earlier that morning.

As the two entered the home, the white male was hiding outside the apartment and came in behind the juvenile, according to the victim.

According to the criminal complaint, the white male approached the victim in the kitchen area of the apartment and told her multiple times to “open the safe.”

When the victim told the white male that she did not have a safe, he stated, “I got a gun in my pocket and I’ll shoot you.”

At this point, the white male lifted the front of his shirt and revealed the grip part of what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband. He did not remove the gun from his waistband, according to the victim.

The victim grabbed a kitchen knife and told the man to leave and began to chase him out of the apartment. At this point, both individuals left the victim’s residence.

It is unclear as to why the white male thought there was a safe in the apartment, or if there was one at all.

Video Surveillance Helps Identify Suspect

Surveillance footage at the residence showed the individuals entering the apartment.

Investigators took screen captures of one of the individuals in the video and provided them to exploreClarion.com.

After the images were posted on exploreClarion.com, Tpr. Knight was contacted by two individuals who were able to identify the unknown white male as Nathan Edward Harbison.

Juvenile Interviewed by State Police

On June 6, the known juvenile was interviewed at the Clarion-based State Police barracks and told Tpr. Knight that his sibling’s friend “Nate” was at his residence on March 16.

The juvenile’s residence is located in close proximity to the scene of the crime.

Throughout the night, “Nate” was left alone in the residence and without the juvenile’s knowledge allegedly took a BB gun located in his closet.

“Nate” then allegedly told the juvenile to take him to the victim’s residence.

The juvenile told Tpr. Knight that he then knocked on the front door and the victim answered. At this point, the juvenile stood in the front door area while “Nate” entered the apartment.

The juvenile confirmed that “Nate” asked the victim “where’s the safe” multiple times.

According to the criminal complaint, the juvenile said that “Nate” pushed the victim and told her he would shoot her if she didn’t “open the safe.”

“Nate” fled into the woods after the victim grabbed the kitchen knife, according to the juvenile. At this point, the juvenile returned to his home.

The juvenile’s testimony indicates that “Nate” then came back to the apartment approximately one hour later and “told him not to say anything.”

“Nate” was then kicked out of the apartment by the juvenile’s mother.

The juvenile told Tpr. Knight that “Nate” is a white male with a tear-drop tattoo, a mustache, and a “sunken-in face.”

Warrant Issued for Harbison’s Arrest

Following further investigation, charges were filed against Harbison at Judge Quinn’s office in Clarion.

A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

Harbison has not been taken into custody as of late Thursday evening.
