OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — A second individual is now facing felony burglary and related charges after allegedly stealing items from a High Street residence in October.

Court documents indicate the Oil City Police Department filed the following criminal charges against 29-year-old Shayne Edward Oday, of Venus:

• Conspiracy — Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, Felony 3
• Conspiracy — Theft By Unlawful Taking-Movable Property, Misdemeanor 1
• Conspiracy — Receiving Stolen Property, Misdemeanor 1
• Conspiracy — Tamper With/Fabricate Physical Evidence, Misdemeanor 2
• Criminal Mischief — Damage Property, Summary

According to a criminal complaint, on Wednesday, October 31, Patrolman Rosenberger, of the Oil City Police Department, spoke to a known individual who reported a theft that had occurred at a residence on High Street around 4:00 p.m. on October 19. The individual gave Patrolman Rosenberger a DVD that contained video evidence of the theft.

In the video footage, Patrolman Rosenberger observed Keela Baker and Shayne Oday removing items including, but not limited to, a sound bar and Sony subwoofer from the porch area of the residence and placing them inside a white-colored truck. Baker and the known man then got into the vehicle and left the residence, according to the complaint.

The complaint notes that on Saturday, October 20, Baker and Oday returned to the victim’s residence after Oday had spoken to the victim about repairing the video surveillance. Once inside the residence, Oday distracted the victim while Baker was loading items into a tote bag. While the victim was downstairs, Oday attempted to destroy the data contained on the hard drive of the video system to destroy the video evidence of the theft from the previous day.

Based on the investigation, charges were filed against Oday on Wednesday, November 7, in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Baker Arraigned, Awaiting Hearing:

Baker was arraigned on Monday, November 5, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.

Unable to post $15,000.00 monetary bail, she was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

According to court documents, her bail type was changed to unsecured on Thursday, November 8, per the judge “for (the) defendant to go to a facility.”

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, with Judge Fish presiding.
