Charles H. Troup

Charles Henry “Charlie” Troup, 86, of Clarion, died early Wednesday morning, August 29, 2018, at his home following a period of declining health.

Charlie was born on November 16, 1931, in West Kittanning, Armstrong County, the son of the late Henry E. and Ethel Marie (Neiswonger) Troup. He lived with his family in the Fairmount City area until his marriage to the former Jacqueline Joyner in October 1955. She survives.

Together, Charlie and Jackie raised four children and built a life together. He enjoyed watching and listening to the Pittsburgh sports teams; going to the Belknap auction on Wednesdays; the Wolf’s Corners Fair; hunting; and going to KFC.

Charlie is survived by his wife; his four children, Terry Troup (Rhonda) of Knox, Steve Troup (Marilyn) of Clarion, Kathy Deitz (Jerry), also of Clarion, and Roger Troup (Doris) of Strattanville; six grandchildren, Caroline Troup (Jason Byron, fiancé), Alicia Troup (Sonny Early, fiancé), Joseph Troup (Shelly), Matthew Troup (Elizabeth), Jenae Troup (Brandon Bowser, fiancé), and Brady Troup (Jordan Ball, fiancé) and his two great-grandchildren, Odin Bowser and Sloan Bowser; and his great-granddaughter on the way, Marleigh Troup.

In addition, Charlie is survived by his brother, Earl Troup (Bonnie) and his sister, Viola G. “Jane” Radaker; both of Fairmount City; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and a large extended family.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; his infant brother, James; his brother Robert L. Troup; his two brothers-in-law, James Radaker and John Radaker; and his granddaughter, Ashleigh Deitz.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Colleen McFarland, pastor of New Rehoboth – Greenville Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the New Rehoboth Cemetery.
