Charles Young jrCharles L. “Chuck” Young, Jr., 62, of Seneca, formerly of the Leeper area, died at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2016 in Seneca at the home of his brother, Richard, where he had been residing during his illness.

He was born in Franklin on June 9, 1954 to the late Charles L. Young, Sr. and Ruth (Cotterman) Young Whitling Deeter.

Charles graduated in 1973 from Cranberry High School.

He was a former member of the Oil City Moose Lodge.

Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the races and Steelers football, and the companionship of his pet dog, Sophie May.

Mr. Young was previously employed as a security guard for both Electralloy in Oil City and Joy Manufacturing in Franklin. He also traveled and worked with various carnivals, locally and in Florida; and worked at the Wet-N-Wild Park in Cook Forest.

He is survived by a daughter, Helen C. Young Littlefield of Rocky Grove, and her mother, Brenda Bosley Milner of Oil City; his former spouse, Janet Young Winger of Ohio; three step-daughters, Sadie Bosley Bemis and her husband, Sam, and their children, Logan and Sebastian, Tonya Manross Coe and her children, Kenna and Addie, and Nicole Stupka and her husband Steve of Ohio; four grandchildren: Shawnna and Keely Littlefield, Mary McChestney, and Charity Porter

Also surviving are three brothers, Steven Deeter and his wife Rose of Ohio, Ronald E. Young and his wife Karan of Cranberry, and Richard A. Whitling and his wife, Melissa of Seneca; a sister, Tiny Young McFarland; a very close friend, Don Ray of Ebensburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Deeter; a niece, Katie Young; a nephew, Ronald A. Whitling; and his step-father, Lawren Deeter.

Friends will be received Saturday, January 14th from 2 — 4 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township, where a funeral service will follow Saturday at 4 p.m., with Pastor Randy Evans, Clarion/Forest V.N.A. hospice chaplain, officiating.
