Charles Russell Brumbaugh, 80, of 807 Elk St, Franklin, died unexpectedly at 8:13 am, Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born January 4, 1932 in Oil City, he was a son of the late Russell C. and Alta Mae Williams Brumbaugh.

Mr. Brumbaugh was a 1950 graduate of Oil City High School.

He served 39 years in the Army and Army Reserves as well as being a Korean and Desert Storm vet in which he has received many honors.

Mr. Brumbaugh was very active in the following and loved the Military support group, the Coon and Fox Club, VFW and Wounded Warriors Project.

He started and owned ABC Cycle center in Franklin.

On August 30, 1958 he was married to Rebecca E. Brummund, who preceded him in death on June 16, 2000.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Renee and husband Gary Smith of Bonita Springs, Fla. Gretchen and husband Tom Miller of Tyrone Pa. Charolette Seekins and Fiancé James V. McChesney Jr. of Cochranton; a son Charles Russell “Dirk” Brumbaugh, Jr. of Franklin; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grand children, whom he loved to spend time with.

Also surviving are 3 sisters; Pearl and Ted Jackson, Mary Lou and Dave Karns, Myra C. Fleishman, all of Oil City; a brother Bill and wife Jenny Brumbaugh of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his Parents he was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca in 2000 and brother-in-law Don Fleishman, a nephew, as well as a great nephew.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 am Monday with the Rev. Mother Holly Davis, interim pastor of Saint John’s Episcopal Church of Franklin, officiating.

Full Military Honors will be accorded by the VETS Honor Guard.

Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Oil City.

The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of one’s choice.
