Child Struck by Motorcycle on Route 62 Flown to Pittsburgh Hospital

HICKORY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A pedestrian was struck by a motorcycle on Sunday morning on Route 62, in Hickory Township, Forest County.

Marienville-based State Police say this accident occurred around 11:35 a.m. on July 30 as a 2009 Harley-Davidson was traveling north on Route 62 when a child ran across the roadway into its path.

The operator of the motorcycle attempted to avoid the collision with the child but was unsuccessful.

The child was flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for suspected non-life threatening injuries.

State Police were assisted at the scene by Tionesta EMS and Fire Department, West Hickory Fire Department, STAT MedEvac, and Forest County Sheriff’s office.

No other information was provided.
