For most, no, scratch that, for nearly every high school football running back, a 300-yard game is a once-in-a-lifetime achievement to live forever.

For Cole and his Oiler linemen, it is becoming as routine as the sun coming up.

Cole turned in his fifth 300-yard game of the season, and his fourth in a row — when he piled up 361 yards and six touchdowns in a 56-16 Oilers thumping of visiting Fort LeBoeuf Friday night. The six touchdowns on the ground are a career-best for the senior, who had scored five times on the ground in three different games this season.

Behind Cole, who scored on runs of 55, 7, 8, 75, 25 and 3 yards — Oil City ran for 552 yards and racked up 602 yards of total offense.

The Oilers exploded for 20 points in the second quarter and 20 more in the third quarter after the game was tied at eight at the end of 12 minutes.

The 7- and 8-yard Cole runs in the second quarter broke the tie, and Noah Petro added a 32-yard run before halftime to give the Oilers (7-1 overall, 5-1 D10, R7) a 28-8 halftime lead.

Petro had a 100-yard night of his own with 109 yards on seven carries. It was the second 100-yard performance of the season the first for him since the opening week when he ran for 141 yards vs. Conneaut (Pa.). Petro added a second 32-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Cole Dauson ran for a 1-yard score and threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to Davontay Harris for the two scores for Fort LeBoeuf, which dropped to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in Region play with the loss. The Bison managed 252 yards of offense most through the air where Dauson was 8 of 14 for 162 yards, the touchdown and an interception. Harris had three grabs for 95 yards and the touchdown.

Oil City hosts Slippery Rock in another big game Friday, Oct. 19.
