Clarion County Man Wanted in High Speed Chase Taken into Custody

robert-myersSHIPPENVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – A Leeper man, who was wanted on charges related to a high speed chase that resulted in an accident on Sunday, April 6, has been taken into custody.

According to court documents, 24-year-old Robert “Buddy” Myers, of Leeper, has been arrested on 26 charges in connection with an incident that occurred on State Route 36, in Washington Township, in which he allegedly fled from Marienville-based State Police. Myers turned himself in to authorities.

Police say after Myers crashed his vehicle, he fled on foot.

Four passengers were in the vehicle, including three juveniles. One of the juvenile passengers was taken to Clarion Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the crash.

Court records show that Myers is facing the following charges:

He was housed in Clarion County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.

He faces a preliminary hearing at 9:45 a.m. on April 29.

Myers was out on bail from a December 21 in which he allegedly struck a 25-year-old Shippenville man in the head with a beer bottle at a Fryburg bar.

Police say the victim later attempted to leave the bar. Myers allegedly grabbed a chainsaw from the bed of a truck, started it, and began to “come after” the victim. The incident ended when the victim drew his handgun and instructed Myers to leave him alone.

Court documents show that a Criminal Conference is scheduled for April 23 in connection with the December 21 incident.
