BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Clarion men’s and women’s diving teams got off to a strong start on Tuesday, as Emma Kehn, Christina Sather and Collin Vest all qualified for both the 1m and 3m Dives at the 2017 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships this week.

Competition will commence tomorrow with the Men’s 3m Dive, with the prelims taking place in the morning and the main event slated for 6 p.m. Thursday will feature the Women’s 1m Dive, Friday the Men’s 1m Dive, and Saturday will conclude with the Women’s 3m Dive.

For Vest, this week represents his opportunity to conclude a career that is one of the best in recent Clarion history. The senior has won NCAA Diver of the Year in each of the last two years and is a three-time national champion, claiming titles in the 1m Dive as a freshman and sophomore and the 3m Dive as a junior last year.

On the women’s side, Kehn will enjoy her first taste of the national championships, with the standout freshman qualifying on both boards after a strong performance on Tuesday. Conversely, Sather earned two All-America Honorable Mentions as a freshman last season and will look to place more highly in her second go-round.
