Clarion University Issues Statement After Student’s Death

CLARION, Pa. — In a statement issued Wednesday evening by Clarion University, the school confirmed that a student was found dead at 10 a.m. today in the auditorium of Marwick-Boyd Fine Arts Center.

The death, discovered by another student, appears to be suicide. Clarion University Police continue to investigate.

The deceased student was a 21-year-old male from Lycoming County. He was a senior accounting and finance major who participated in Marching Band, Kappa Kappa Psi, College Democrats and Accounting Society of Clarion University.

Students who need support are encouraged to contact Counseling Services in 256 Becht Hall by calling 814-393-2255 or by utilizing walk-in hours from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
