Sather wrapped up her season by blowing away the field in the 1m Dive, posting a score of 482.90 that was 21 points better than the second place finisher. She becomes the 47th Clarion diver to win a national championship under coach Dave Hrovat, who was effusive in his praise of Sather after the fact.

“I could tell when I saw Christina walk in for the finals that she had that fire and confidence in her,” Hrovat said. “She had such a great preliminary performance and it carried over into the evening. In the 1m Dive, though, you don’t have much room for mistakes, and she was simply awesome tonight.”

Sather finished the preliminaries in the afternoon with the top score of 443.85. That carried over into the finals when she paced the field with a 482.90. It is the sixth time Sather has placed in an NCAA Championship. Emma Kehn was an All-America Honorable Mention, taking ninth with a score of 413.70.
